A tour of Auckland City Hospital, for visiting international oncology nurses, has been scheduled for early evening Tuesday 25th September.
A shuttle(s) will pick you up from SkyCity Auckland Convention Centre at 4:45pm and transport you to Auckland City Hospital.
The tour will begin with a trip to the Medical and Radiation Oncology Ward (ward 64) and will progress to see the Phase 1 Research Unit. We will then move on to see the new ‘State of the Art’ Haematology Ward. A senior nurse from each unit will be on hand to lead the tour and answer any queries.
You will then be taken across to the outpatients department and shown through ‘Acutes’ ( a dedicated unit for management of patients presenting with acute disease complications or treatment toxicity), progressing on to see the radiation therapy department and finally the daystay unit where patients have chemotherapy administered. We would then go upstairs to a meeting room with a lovely outlook over the Waitemata Harbour, where light (non-alcoholic) drinks and nibbles will be served.
A return shuttle to SkyCity will depart around 6:30pm.
If you are interested in participating in the Hospital Tour please email email@example.com immediately. Spaces are limited to 20. Allocations for the Hospital Tour will be made on a first-come first-served basis.
